Tan Plaid Blanket Scarf

Oh the joys of wearing a scarf without people giving you strange looks... It's been so nice to throw on a cute scarf to add a little something to my outfits. My favorite one this season is this plaid scarf I scored from Owen & Ceme for less than $22! It's a great staple to have in your fall closet because it pairs well with everything.

Today we took a break from working in Kitty's apartment and ventured over to a cute, little coffee shop in Concord. Honestly, we wanted to just move in because the interior was to die for and their coffee was exactly what we needed to be productive. I'm pretty sure the staff thought we were a little crazy because we ate breakfast and lunch there. (I mean, it was that good.) I can't wait to go back again next week!

Proudest Monkey

One thing I've learned about Boston is these northerners don't have anything on our burgers and tacos.

Galleria Day Spa

Thursday, October 15, 2015

I've always been nervous about getting a massage. I am extremely ticklish and hate when people touch me - aka: worst massage client ever. So when my boyfriend treated me to a massage, I was pleasantly surprised by my amazing experience!

Currently Coveting: High-Waisted Flare Jeans

Wednesday, October 14, 2015

Back in my day, jeans were as skinny and as low rise as they could be. Thank goodness that's over.

That's my mantra this week. It has been a very very long week. All I have to say is thank goodness it's the weekend!

suzy speaks the scoop vol 3

The Scoop is short and sweet today because there is only one thing you need to do this weekend - go to the Texas Reds Festival.

Texas Reds Steak & Grape Festival kicks off tonight in Downtown Bryan and I cannot be anymore excited. I look forward to this event every year because there is always good food, good Texas wine, and good Texas craft beer. Is there any better way to spend your weekend? (Psst - the answer is absolutely not.)

Fall Goals

Wednesday, September 23, 2015

Close your eyes. Imagine you are laying in a pile of leaves enjoying the cool, crisp air in the autumn sunshine. Seriously, do this and count to thirty.

suzy speaks - fall goals 2015

Your mind feels clear, right? That's the great thing about fall - the weather is changing, which helps you mentally prepare for change in your life. When Victoria and Meg at The B Bar asked about our fall goals in this month's link up, the timing couldn't have been more perfect. I've been thinking a lot about changes I need in my life and goals I want to accomplish before the year ends. At work, we say that if you share your goals with others, you're more likely to accomplish them. So share! What do you want to achieve this fall?

Blogger or WordPress. Blogger or WordPress.

That is the first major struggle you face when figuring out how to start a blog.

The Scoop // Vol. 2

Friday, August 7, 2015

Good morning, loves. I have a feeling this weekend is going to be full of non-stop coffee as I clean up around the blog and the ladypartment. I mean, I don't hate this idea since the Texas heat has been hitting the 100s hard lately. Plus, it's tax free weekend in Texas. A/C, online shopping, and organizing my life sounds like a fun-filled weekend to me. ;)

Life Update + Ladypartment 2.0 Home Tour: Before

Wednesday, July 29, 2015

Holy shit, guys. Summer is already coming to a close and fall will be moving on in before we know it. Where did the time go? I can only count the times I laid by the pool on one hand. What the actual junk.

These past two months have been a whirlwind personally, socially, and career-wise. I don't even know where to begin... Well, maybe I do.

Summer To-Do List for #BCSTX Twenty-Somethings

Monday, June 8, 2015

This view is gorgeous, am I right? My boyfriend took this last week when he was in Jackson Hole, Wyoming (without me to my extreme disappointment).

Even though I'm a post-grad and no longer have summer breaks, I still look forward to summer. Texas is beautiful in the summertime. There's no place like it. I feel like it's my duty to appreciate this amazing weather while I can after all the crazy rain for the past month.

21 Day Challenge: June | Healthy Eating Habits

Friday, June 5, 2015

I can't believe it's already June. I feel like it was just yesterday that I was celebrating the new year and wondering what 2015 would bring for me. In my mind, I imagined I would be eating more of this:

BinarySpace

Thursday, April 23, 2015

So, I'm sure you've walked or driven by the Parker-Astin building in Downtown Bryan thinking, "What is that place?"

BinarySpace Bryan, Texas

Don't worry. Many people thought the same thing. I did and so did Danielle Docherty. Thankfully, Danielle decided to go investigate and discovered BinarySpace, a co-working space that recently opened it's doors.

Texas A&M Muster
This was not the original post I planned for today, but today is too important of a day to not acknowledge it.

Throughout the year, it is so easy to get caught up in the competition with other people around you and forget that we are all in this journey together. This is why Muster is my favorite tradition at Texas A&M. We put everything aside and take a day to lean on each other for support during what has been a difficult year for some. For those of my readers who aren't Aggies, Muster is a time for us to celebrate and honor the lives of other Aggies who are no longer with us.

Lilly for Target

Thursday, April 16, 2015

Every sorority girl across the United States died from sheer happiness when Lilly Pulitzer and Target announced their new collection - I mean, let's be real. I flipped out. My boyfriend thought something horrible happened because I kept holding my hand up in the air trying to say "Holy crap, what is this amazingness?" but no words would fall out of my mouth.

5 Types of Cover Letters Hiring Managers Don't Want To Read

Tuesday, April 14, 2015

how to write a cover letter

Almost two years ago, I was fresh out of college searching for a company to join to begin my next chapter of my life. I remember having no clue what to write when companies asked for cover letters when applying for a position. I googled samples and the things that would come out were just horrible. Let me tell you, out of all the applications I was required to send a cover letter with my resume, I only had one company ask for an interview.

Fast forward to today. Now, I'm in a position of hiring people - which is totally weird to me - and the cover letters that hit my inbox can really blow my mind sometimes...in a bad way. I finally understand why I received so very many rejection letters.

how to build a wardrobe on a budget part 3

Do you struggle with seeing new trends each season and have an overwhelming need to try them? You'll buy something, hang it in your closet, come to it over and over again and can't figure out how to fit it into your current style. After six months, you'll find it shoved in the black hole of your closet and say, "Oh snap! I can't believe this still has the tags on it."

Don't worry. I feel your pain. It's how I ended up with an overstuffed closet with nothing to wear and why I learned how to build my wardrobes with these few tricks:
